Put heavier items into farthest parts of Truck and Lightest on Top of Heavier Boxes.

And if you are helping the movers, always put in the heavy boxes into the farthest part of the truck from the door to keep the truck balanced during the move.

Don’t leave boxes empty when packing.

Fill in boxes with other light items so movers avoid not moving boxes that feel either not fully packed or unbalanced.

Avoid putting items from many different moves into one box.

It will make the unloading process easier by leaving same room boxes in one particular room instead of moving it around the house.

Label the boxes.

This will help you and your movers not get confused with where to put which boxes. Having a simple way of knowing which boxes go where can help speed up the process of unpacking―and make sure you still have everything when you unpack.

Tape boxes well.

Use pieces of tape to close the bottom and top of the box, along with taping at the edges of the box where concern is felt that it might not hold up.

If moving art know what to use when packing and moving.

Never wrap any oil paintings in regular paper because it will end up sticking. For pictures with glass in front, make an X of tape across the glass to make it sturdier and secure if it shatters. Also wrap pictures in  packing paper or bubble wrap along with special protection boxes to avoid damages.

Kitchen Items Which Should Be Boxed Carefully.

When you are packing dishes, put packing paper around each dish carefully, then five or six dish pieces together with more paper. Place dishes on their sides and never flat to avoid chips or cracks.Along with crumpled packing paper on bottom and on top of dishes to secure protection. Cups and bowls can be put inside of one another, with paper separating them, and wrapped with three or four together. Put them all in dish-pack boxes.

Other Items Which Should Be Considered Fragile.

You have to treat TVs like any other piece of furniture, wrapping them in quilted furniture pads; however, plasma TVs require special protection box for moving if you don’t have the original box and can be ruined if you lay them flat. If you pack by yourself , use special TV boxes with Styrofoam edges to prevent breaks or dents in the edges of the TV. For long distance moving put the TV box in between two soft things like a mattress along with soft materials like a blanket under the TV box on the ground to avoid damage a TV might receive if there are bumps on the road.
